What is Mindful Art?


Mindful Art is a well-being programme for children age 7+ who struggle to understand their emotions, manage their stress and have problems to express themselves.

What is included:


  • Therapeutic Art Life Coach, DBS checked, insured, a teacher with 20 years of experience
  • Very small group and autism friendly environment
  • Certificate of achievement 
  •  FREE Art resources
  • Exhibition
  • 1:1 support for the family
  • End of programme report ( if attended min.5)


Who is it for?


  • Children who are anxious and have problems with relaxation
  • Children who have problems expressing emotions
  • Children who are diagnosed with autism or awaiting diagnosis
  • Children age 5+
  • Children do NOT need to be artistic

COST: £5 per session 

           

Structure of the session:


  • Drop off and welcome - parents/carers are encouraged to enjoy a cup of coffee in The Arc Cafe as children respond differently when parents/carers are not around. It is also a good opportunity for parents to have a break. However, that will be discussed individually  with each family. Parents are welcome to stay with their children as sometimes that can be precious time together.
  • Rules - children set the rules themselves and are reminded of them every session.
  • MANDALA -Colour your day - to express emotions
  • SEE/THINK/WONDER  to develop critical thinking
  • Creating - freedom of expression- every month different media and theme
  • Mandala for Meditation
  • Positive Affirmations to concentrate on our strenghths 
  • Clear up - children are involved in packing up
  • Pick up time and feedback to parents/carers
